Habitful Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Habitful – Habit Tracking mobile application ("Habitful", "the app") for Android and iOS handles information. Habitful is developed and published by Nathan Smile ("we", "us"). By using Habitful you agree to the practices described here.

1. Summary

• Habitful has no accounts, sign-up or sign-in.
• Your habits, check-ins, notes and settings are stored only on your device. We never receive them.
• The app shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob collects some device data to serve and measure ads, as described below.

2. Information stored on your device

Habit names, schedules, goals, check-ins, rest days, reminders and app preferences are saved in local storage on your device. This data is not uploaded to us or to any server we operate, and we cannot access it. It may be included in your device's own backup (for example Google or iCloud backup) according to your device settings.

3. Notifications

If you turn on reminders, Habitful schedules local notifications on your device. No notification data is sent to us or to a push notification service.

4. Information collected by third parties (advertising)

Habitful uses Google AdMob, provided by Google LLC, to display banner and interstitial ads. Google may automatically collect and process the following data from your device:

• Device identifiers, such as the Android Advertising ID, App Set ID or Apple IDFA (only if you allow tracking on iOS)
• IP address, which may be used to estimate approximate location
• Ad interactions, such as ad views and taps, and app launch information
• Diagnostic and performance data, such as crash logs and ad loading performance
• Device information, such as model, operating system version and language

Google uses this data to deliver ads, to limit how often ads appear, for ad measurement and analytics, and for fraud prevention and security. Depending on your choices, ads may be personalized. Data is encrypted in transit. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. To learn more, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not receive personal data about you from AdMob, only aggregated ad reports.

5. Your choices and consent

• EEA, UK and Switzerland: on first launch, Habitful shows a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) so you can choose whether your data is used for personalized ads. You can change your choice at any time from the app's Settings screen.
• iOS: Habitful asks for permission through App Tracking Transparency before using the advertising identifier. If you decline, ads are not personalized using that identifier. You can change this in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
• Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your device's Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Settings > Google > Ads).
• You can also manage ad personalization at Google My Ad Center.

6. Data retention and deletion

Habit data stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete individual habits inside the app, or remove all Habitful data by clearing the app's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the app. Because we never receive your habit data, we have nothing to delete on our side. Advertising data collected by Google is retained according to Google's policies. You can request deletion of data held by Google through your Google account or the links above.

7. Security

Your habit data never leaves your device through Habitful. We rely on your device's built-in security, such as the screen lock and storage encryption, to protect it. Communication with Google's ad services uses encrypted connections (HTTPS).

8. Children's privacy

Habitful is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will help address it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR in the EEA and UK, or CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Since we hold no personal data about you, these rights apply mainly to data processed by Google, which you can exercise through Google. You can also contact us with any questions.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
